The Pipevine Swallowtail Butterfly (Battus philenor) is a swallowtail butterfly which is found in North and Central America. The male is the one that has the velvety blue color on the back wings. I know it is a strange angle, but one that shows the eye and open wings and hopefully an attractive picture.
