The water was moving, but managed to take this picture late on a summer afternoon and only noticed the little bug once I uploaded it to my computer.

Decided to observe the insect for a few more minutes at the time, (I was curious to see what it was doing there, kept returning to the same spot), and realized a few minutes later that he was guarding the area while the female, had not noticed her before (brown color not in the picture) was probably laying her eggs.
